Chariman's Chat 7

Woohoo - the start of the season is almost here and I'm sure you're all as excited as me! This year the club has more teams than ever before, and for the first time in ELHC history, more Ladies teams than Mens.
You'll have seen there's lots of exciting new stuff happening this season, such as increased training slots, more coaches, better teas and improved communications. We've listened to your feedback and we're doing our best to act on it.
There's also loads of amazing people who've been working behind the scenes to get things ready, including:
> Fiona Isacsson - arranging all of the club's fixtures and booking pitch slots
> Sarah Watts - setting up and coordinating the new Tower League
> Luke Jefferies & Mike Pettit - getting umpires on training courses and organising them for the games
> Bob Gotobed - attending Essex League meetings on behalf of the club
> Lorna Smythe - addressing all the club payments and setting up our new, simpler matchfee payments system
> Charlotte Burge - coordinating activities and arranging the various ELHC committees
> Anastasia Nicholl - applying for numerous grants and funding opportunities, and seeking out commercial partners
And that's just naming a few - thanks to all the committee members, captains, coaches and umpires. Remember without all their time and efforts, none of us would get to play.
We're run by volunteers, and totally dependent on them, so please do think about how you could help your club by umpiring, coaching or just using the skills you have from work or you personal life to help ELHC... like Ben Howson's amazing national anthem rendition, draped in the union jack, at the 25th anniversary dinner.
Cheers,
Dan
