Fundraising 16-17
Posted by Daniel Goodacre on 26 August 2016
Hi ELHCers,
This season, following your feedback, we’ve launched our comprehensive coaching structure, with every team having at dedicated coach for training and match days, together with two additional training sessions. Obviously this doesn’t come cheap, but we’re committed to keeping the club affordable for all. So one way we’re hoping to make this sustainable is by setting every team a fundraising target for the season.
These targets are £1,600 for combined squad L1/L2 and M1/M2. For every else this will be £400 per team. The 1s/2s have a higher target to reflect the higher matchday pitch hire for Lee Valley teams (note training hire costs are roughly the same).
At the End of Season dinner, we’ll be awarding prizes (alcoholic in nature) for both the team that raises the most money overall and the most money as a proportion of their target.
There are plenty of ways you can raise funds:
> Holding fundraising events with your team – bake sales, raffles, sponsored curry, Stephen Lopez naked calendar… whatever you can think of (cooperation with other teams is positively encouraged)
> Donating your coaching fees back to the club – just let Andy Moncur know you’d like to do this
> Donating your umpiring fees back to the club – just let Luke Jefferies know you’d like to do this
> Making purchase though Give As You Live on Clubbuzz – more details here http://www.elhockey.co.uk/fundraising
> Donating your old stick to the club to use with youth/beginners – just speak with Steve Canwell or Sarah Watts at training
> Asking your friends and family to support the club with a donation – just pay into the club account with the reference “Donation” and the team it’s associated with i.e. “DONATION L5”
Good luck everyone – I know you can make the club proud!
Cheers,
Dan
