Sport Inspired

SportInspired is a social enterprise that partners with local, national and international organisations to deliver fun filled Community Games - local multi-sport festivals and tournaments designed to increase youth and adult participation in sport.

ELHC thinks SportInspored is brilliant and are working with them to introduce hundreds of children to hockey at multi-sport festivals in East London. Watch this space for more information.

East London Hockey Club are setting up a brand new Youth Section. We think it's vital that children and young people get involved in an Olympic Sport that will be hotly contested right here in 2012. At the moment, we're working towards our Clubs First accreditation and are looking to start training sessions this Autumn.

Hockey is a great game, and if you've never played it, you should certainly give it a shot. Youth training will be free and for both girls and boys up to the age of 18. It's a great way to have fun, get fit, make friends, and learn to work as a team. We'll be looking to start taking part in youth competitions as soon as we can, for those that already play hockey, you might even be able to turn out for one of our Adult sides on Saturdays.

We are very keen to hear of any interest from any young players, even if you've never picked up a stick before! If you fancy giving hockey a shot, get in touch with Luke Weatherill (our Youth Development Officer) at luke.weatherill@gmail.com and we'll let you know any details.

We are also keen to hear any ideas/suggestions/views from from those in and around Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham - please do get in touch!
