Sign up for ELHC Allocation Day

East London Hockey Club's annual allocation day will take place on Saturday, 30 August, and is open to members and non-members alike.

Whether you're dyed-in-the-wool East London or you're looking for a club to join for September, we're excited to welcome you with a few drills and games at London's best pitches.

Where

Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, Stratford

When

• 9am start and 12.30pm finish for women
• 12.45pm start and 3.45pm finish for men

What you need

• Playing kit of any colour, including shin pads and astro boots
• A hockey stick (there will be a few spares)
• A change of clothes (optional)

The aim of the allocation day is to assess which training session players should attend when the season officially kicks off in a few weeks. Coaches from across the club will be present, as well as team captains and volunteers.

Don't worry if you're a bit rusty. This is a relaxed event, and squads won't be decided until nearer the start of the season. Groups of teams from both the men's and women's teams train at different times and places, and this is just an opportunity to see which level of training would suit you best.

If you're already an ELHC member and want to push into a higher team this season, this is a great opportunity to show your skills. Players from all teams are encouraged to attend, and you can sign up on Teamo.

New players will not be assigned teams based on their performance at allocation day. There is plenty of opportunity to move around the club throughout the season.

After the event finishes, there will be a social in Hackney Wick where you can get to know the members of the club over a few drinks. Lee Valley has changing facilities, so feel free to bring shower kit and a change of clothes, or just head straight to the bar straight after we wrap up.
