Want To Join East London Hockey Club? Come To Our Club Day On 22 August!

East London Hockey Club will be holding its annual Club Allocation Day on Saturday, 22 August 2026 – players of all levels are welcome.

The event will be held at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, on pitch 1, with the women’s session running in the morning and the men’s in the afternoon. Keepers are encouraged to come along.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wishes to join the club this season. We have women’s and men’s teams at every level, so whether you’re an experienced player or totally new to the sport, there will be plenty of opportunities to play when the season starts in September.

What you need to know

• The women’s session will run from 9.30am until 12pm (fill in the sign-up sheet here)
• The men’s session will run from 12.30pm until 4pm (fill in the sign-up sheet here)
• Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre (Eton Manor, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Leadmill Ln, London E20 3AD) is easy to reach from Leyton tube station (Central Line), and car parking is available
• Both sessions will begin with registration, followed by a warm-up, some training, and friendly games
• The event is intended to work out which squad is the best fit for your playing level, with teams to be decided nearer the start of the season - don't worry if you're a bit rusty
• Bring a light and dark playing top, shin pads, mouthguards and a stick if you have one – don’t forget water!
• Spare sticks will be provided if needed
• Lee Valley is equipped with showers and changing rooms for those who want to change after the session
• We have a table booked at the Beer Merchant's Tap from the end of the morning session for a club-wide social
