2016 Season Welcome

Hi everyone,
As we near the start of the season, with friendlies beginning next weekend, I offer a warm welcome to both our new and returning members. I hope you're looking forward to a fun-filled season of hockey and socialising... starting with the Human Bingo social on 17th September.
This summer we had a record number of applicants to join the club, with over 100 mens and almost 200 ladies applications. To deal with this demand we have created Ladies 8s and Ladies 9s teams, together with forming our own ladies league to support them, and are currently deciding on whether we should add a Mens 9s team.
Squads for these teams are now being finalised based on performances at trials, training and in teams last season. With the increasing size and ability levels in the club we expect to be much stronger this year, so even dropping a team will likely see you playing a higher level of hockey. If you haven't heard which squad you're in by Sunday please get in touch with Club Captains Steve Canwell or Sarah Watts.
We expect there will be a lot of player movement, but remember we're a club, not a collection of teams - we all wear the same orange and compete on the same beer pong table. So please give all new joiners to your squad a warm, ELHC welcome. The squads will also be fluid throughout the season, with the new coaching structure helping support the development and movement of players.
