Chair's Chat - Match Teas - August 2019

Posted by Amy MacKenzie on 4 October 2019

"What’s the deal with teas this season?", the hungry pizza hordes cried. Well, here goes...

If you're playing at Mile End...

...it’s still going to be pizza, but it’s going to be hosted at The Warehouse aka Benugo, which is conveniently across the road from the Castle (here's a handy map). We ask that you go straight there from your games at Mile End with your opposition and order/eat your pizzas on the premises. We’ve got some excellent deals in place there, with plenty of room for people and kit, plus, they will play whatever sport we ask on the projector while you munch down on post-game pizza. After you are nicely fed you can saunter across to The Castle for further merriment (and matchbox games) if you so wish.

There are two meal deal options (so we can hopefully cater for meat, veggie, vegan, gluten-free tastes)

  • Option 1: 2x Margarita, 1 x Vegan, 2 x Meat
  • Option 2: 1x Margarita, 1 x Vegan, 2 x Meat & 2 portions of wedges (replacing 1 margarita pizza)

Outside of these meal deals which the club will cover, you are more than welcome to avail from our special promotions:

  • 5% off all other food and full-price beverages
  • Extended Happy Hour from 12-7pm (Corona, Menabrea, House Wine = £3)
  • 6 Shots for £20 (Sambuca, Tequila or Jager)

A kind reminder that when you are on the premises and seen to be representing the club, we expect a high standard of Clubmanship.

If you're playing at Lee Valley...

...your teas are also at Lee Valley. Easy, right?

Due to the cost of teas at Lee Valley, teas are for the Away Team and Umpires only, unless the opposition are not staying for teas, in which case the Home Team can have teas.

After staying with their opposition at Lee Valley, teams are more than welcome to join everybody else at Benugo or the Castle.

If you're playing at Redbridge...

...your teas are held at Redbridge Sports Centre above the tennis courts.

Teams playing matches that finish before 5pm will be offered hot teas. Teams playing matches that finish after 5pm will be offered a cold buffet.

If you're playing at Ive Farm...

...your teas are also held at Benugo, like the Mile End teams.
