New developments to training
Posted by Nobody on 5 October 2016
This year we have significantly improved training at the club by increasing pitch space and additional coaches. We hope you'll agree this has been a huge success. That success has, however, caused us logistical issues, and an increased attendance at training has led to overcrowding at some sessions. This has been a particular issue at Mile End on the weeks we don't have the second session on a Tuesday. We've had some very useful feedback which we'll be acting on in the following ways:
- Avoiding the confusion we've seen some weeks by publishing the dates on which we don't have the second session on Tuesday and when we will be doing the goalkeeper training.
- Further increasing the coaching resources at the sessions where we are seeing the highest attendance and adjusting what we do to make the best use of the space available.
- Finding additional pitch space and funding to reduce the impact of the weeks we lose Tuesday and hopefully find ways to improve further.
The first two will be implemented immediately and the third as soon as we are able - we are physically constrained by the number of astroturfs in Tower Hamlets and Newham and have been working hard on that in the background.
See our training page for all updates about goalkeeper training.
