Tragedy at Old Loughts

Posted by Alex Kickham on 16 December 2015

It is with deep regret that we have to report the sad news that Tom Wilson, from Old Loughtonians Hockey Club, died in a freak training accident last week.

Tom had started his playing career at the age of 5 with Havering HC, progressed through the County ranks representing Essex at different age groups, before going to University and playing for Beeston and Belper in the National Leagues.  Tom returned to play Old Loughts 1st XI hockey and was a key member of the squad that have aspirations of returning to National League status.

Tom was an extremely conscientious person and had agreed to be an organ donor whilst at University, and even in death, Tom has helped around 20 people to continue living through his acts.

On behalf of ELHC, we all send our condolences to Graham, Lisa, Pippa and Daisy, and are thinking of you all through these difficult times.
